So far this book is excellent. I’m a slow reader and primarily read fiction, but I am thoroughly enjoying every little detail. The way the author ties together the context of the wider world helps me understand the setting more thoroughly and stitch together so many historical figures and events I’ve learned about elsewhere.

A beautiful and inspiring tour of how different cultures and individuals prepare and lay their dead to rest. A reminder that bodily autonomy does not have to end with our breath.
