Wow I have waited awhile to read this. I have just barely tipped my toes in but I can already tell it’s gonna be a ride. Normal people vibes. I adore Adelaide though. How could I not love this with the backdrop of London and her love of books? Hoping this one doesn’t wreck me.🩷

After Lauren Asher’s “Dirty Air” series I didn’t know if I could find another F1 series to get into. This one intrigued me with Aurelie being a female driver. I adore her, she’s so real. Shes so confident in her abilities but such a mess when it comes to Callum. And he is absolutely similarly undone. I will also say the book is well written and researched. Honestly didn’t wanna put it down.

Finally! Alice is having revelations, and we get Peter’s side of the story, I knew he wasn’t a jerk. Alice is starting to face her true feelings about what she’s done, their professor, and Peter. Up until now, she’s been kind of naive. They also finally admit their struggles to each other. At last, the story turns a corner.

This book is hefty and taking me a minute to get through and is definitely Kuang experimenting. It’s not as theory heavy as some have claimed especially if you’re familiar with the genre. Alice just feels unreliable in how she views herself and Peter. Partially wish it was dual POV. At least now we’re finally getting flashbacks. Some bits have been uncomfy but we’ll see where it leads.

2 chapters in and wow it is incredibly well researched and full of heart and actual stories. Sure as an avid Disney fan and proud Disney adult, I can recount basics like the utilidoors or forced perspective,etc. But even I’m learning things I didn’t know about. It is also written so well, I’m actually feeling emotions. Can’t wait to read the rest!
