I'm going to read the last two books in the Cadogan Vampire books, then the new one, before I reread the whole InCrypid series from Seanan McGuire, then her new one. So many favorite authors are dropping books this month ... it's feast instead of famine. I think I'm looking forward to the new Anne Bishop book the most.

This is the last book in the series ... how will it ever end? There's so much to wrap up? How will the heroes survive? I'm almost biting my nails. It's so intense I have to take breaks. Good lord; if there's no HEA, I don't know what I'll do. Implode, explode. There will certainly be tears. There have already been tears. I know I'll be re-reading this series ...

Depth and complexity in a good way.

So good. So very, very good. And a look at manga, which I've never looked at before.

I don't know how Wen Spencer does it, but her writing is so delicious; it's like the best chocolate in the world. It's rich and smooth and has so many notes. And I've eaten the whole thing far too fast and have to go back for more as soon as I can. Unlike the best chocolates, her covers are often just terrible; what's inside, however, is akin to food porn.

Better than the preceding novella, "Lone Wolf," which felt rushed in dealing with its big bad. So far, the story is small: shifter meets girl, falls in love, catastrophe ... but it's better for the tightness of the storytelling.

Heroine is already with the wrong guy, and I already want to smack the twit. Urgh. 600 more pages of bad choices. I may have to put this one back on the e-shelf.

I love this author, but I just can't get into this book. I'm wading through it, and I just can't wait for it to be over.

I'm rereading Cassandra Gannon's elementals series. So very good. Can't wait for the next one. Love this author!

This is available on Amazon now, one chapter at a time. A 30-some page update every two weeks for 12 weeks, adding up to a novel. Like an old fashioned serial, in a new mode. Since I like to gorge, I'll wait until it's all out before reading, but I'm fascinated to watch how this project progresses. Robin McKinley is doing it now with KES, as is Ilona Andrews with the Innkeeper, but those are free. How will this go?

So far, the writing is good. The intro was a bit weird and doesn't seem to tie into anything just yet, but I've barely scratched the surface of this enormous giant of a tome.

I cannot make myself finish this book. I seriously don't care what happens to the protagonist. Or her friends. Or the bad guy. Blah, blah, blah evilcakes.

I wish the fellowship had stayed together. Poor Frodo and Sam, off on their own ...

There's just something so cookie cutter about this novella. Every step is predictable. And the author just didn't bring her trademark humor.

I usually love this author, but this book is dragging for me. There's no depth to the characters, no investment in them for me.

I needed something light, silly, and short after all the BDB wannabes I've been reading. This certainly fit the bill. It's about 130 pages long. A demon and a human serial killer (who only killed bad guys) are chasing down Satan's granddaughter's pet pink dragon. Yup. Light and silly.

Just started, but not impressed. There something dull about the writing. Some writing sparkles, some has cutting edges, some is comfy and cozy like the perfect winter blanket. This is dull like an unwashed window; I can sort of see through it, but everything is smeared and ill defined.

I had to download an app/thing to freeze GIFs in Google Chrome so the bloody damn things will stop cycling on my screen. I just HATE them. Add images, sure. But the GIFs I despise, and they make me quite cranky with you, reviewer who uses them.

I'm rereading the LOTU series -- the first three books -- by Gena Showalter before reading the rest of the series. After reading the latest Black Dagger Brotherhood book, I'm looking for more tortured alpha heroes. They're fun in fiction, but I'd smack one in real life, I'm sure.

I'm filing this under Black-Dagger-Brotherhood and its ilk. I'm hoping I'll see more of the other horsemen, and more of the humor. It's plodding a bit right now.
