I just got to the chapter where Simone Weil spoke vociferously against intervening in Hitler’s expanding military encroachment because she was a rabid pacifist and thought he would stop before things went too far. I'm only on page 4 and already I can't take it. His prose is so beautiful that it makes me want to punch something.
