Ok I’m writing it down here so I’ll be able to find it later: Chapters IX through XIII in part VII, the sequence where Levin meets Anna for the first time, nearly falls in love with her, and is then almost immediately thrown into the chaos of his wife giving birth to their first child the next morning is some of the best writing I have ever read in my life, ever. Ever ever.
