Why are characters in a NOVEL of FAKE IMAGINARY FICTION talking abt current events from the real world 😭 within the first 17 pages we’ve already mentioned the pandemic, the crises in Ukraine and Israel, and the presidential election. like damn can we have some escapism PLEASE

I’m sorry but who says “do you know what to do when she gets small?” about a grown ass woman. I’m trying to let it be a mediocre cheesy book again but I feel like the tone has somehow shifted and I can’t let it be that. Ugh.

Had to close the book for a minute bc why is the mmc suddenly going on a try hard, sappy ass soliloquy while they’re standing in the kitchen?! I need rom coms to just be cheesy. Embrace the cheese! You’re not Shakespeare and that’s ok!
