God knows how power-hungry Indonesians have been throughout history. There always seems to be a struggle for power: father against son, uncle against nephew, brother against brother, cousin against cousin, even distant relatives against one another. Hell, much of our current socio-political landscape turns out to be the product of centuries of rivalry, conflict, and endless contests for power.
