No, I will never ever finish a book I ever start. I started 16 different books as I read Vineland, and I plan on finishing at least 6 of them. Disasterous. This one may take a minute.

Great so far. Love the long sentences.

Not enjoying in the slightest but I’ll keep on. I don’t even mind the cool, passive narrator thing, because I quite like Dideon and Adler and that whole thing. It’s just like, very, very corny and a bit humdrum at times. The sentences aren’t even that beautiful, and the observations are just a few rungs above a recent MFA grad or a precocious undergrad. Unbearable, to say the least. God help me if I persist.

So good. Funny, beautiful and sad and just incredible. Very funny!
