In a bit of a reading slump but also I keep checking out books from the library that have a waitlist so I keep getting interrupted in my reading/:

Ruth Thoughts:
- why is this one so short?
- pleasant break from constant violence

Judges Thoughts:
- a bit of a snooze but at least it was easier to read than some other books
- story of Gibeah is insane

Joshua Thoughts
- was much more inspired to do some historical research on my own after reading this
- need a biblical map

this book is sooooo English

I can’t renew my hold at the library so I have to pause this but I refuse to dnf…not a bad book, just nothing new for me

Deuteronomy Thoughts:
- okay now we are getting somewhere
- i can’t stress enough how repetitive this book is but this book was more moving than the last two

this is the first book i am reading on my kobo but i want to dnf sooooo bad

calling illegitimate children “by-blows” is really gross to me /:

I was super intimidated by the length of this book at first but I really cannot stop listening and I am only stopping for the day because I cannot start having Ted Bundy nightmares again

Numbers Thoughts:
-still very repetitive but we are getting somewhere at least
- i love that they did let women have their inheritances
-i get that he needs to lay out the rules but i am tired of the list of offerings like i do not care how many goats you get

wait this one is actually showing a little promise

becoming an audiobook queen this year

being self righteous about not voting for anyone is really getting a little tired

oh brother…

listening to this as an audiobook and getting the feeling it is better to actually read but i am going to persevere

never thought troubled women who love the water and swimming like mermaids would get this kind of representation but i am glad we do

the way latinos always need to talk about incest

Leviticus Thoughts:
- soooooooo extremely boring
- rules rules rules
- once again i do kinda love wrathful god and how he will not tolerate disobedience

book three is sooooooo good even if you are not necessarily a Christian

I was tearing up at my desk about the beauty of love and marriage until he got a little sexist

So many little parts of this book make me feel like I am on the verge of sobbing

Started off extremely slow but the last 15 minutes or so have been perfect

wait he is making some really good points rn…

the longest book ever

Exodus Thoughts:
- I absolutely love the story of the plagues and Passover, sometimes a wrathful God makes solid points
- In some ways this book reminds me of the Greek gods because I feel like it highlights God’s imperfections like his pride
- The second half is so unbelievably boring and now I am so far behind because I couldn’t force myself to read it

the latino urge to mention farts even when it is completely unnecessary is very real

Genesis Thoughts:
- stories are much shorter than i expected them to be
- lots and lots of kids were had!
- Joseph’s story was my favorite and it reminds me of when I was in the musical so now I will be listening to the album

i REALLY wanted to finish my book before the new year but i will have to accept defeat
