After their first successful training venture with their new apprentices Fireheart and Graystripe spend some well earned time hunting until Fireheart catches a familiar scent, his sister. Graystripe has seemed to be much more distant since the death of the Riverclan cat.

Fireheart and Graystripe had earned an escort home from Windclan when they were attacked at the Gorge trying to take a shortcut. In the unnecessary battle there was a death of a Riverclan cat which seems to have furthered the alliance between Riverclan and Shadowclan. With this news Bluestar wants more apprentices to protect the clan, thus giving Firestar and Greystripe apprentices, Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw.

Finally convincing Tallstar they’re no threat, Fireheart and Graystripe lead them as far as Barley’s farm. They meet with an old friend Ravenpaw who seems to be doing well. Ravenpaw offers food and shelter to them and the Windclan cats being desperate surely accept it. During the morning with full bellies and dry fur Barkface has a vision from Starclan of blood stained clouds. There will be an unnecessary death.

Windclan was successfully found. Starving and dying under a large highway Fireheart and Graystripe now have to convince them they mean no harm and to come back to the forest.

After the meeting at Fourtrees Nightpelt and Crookedstar shared a look not lost on Bluestar. Both protested the return of Windclan however after the meeting Bluestar instructed Graystripe and Fireheart to find Windclan and bring them home.

It has come time for yet another meeting at fourtress. Windclan is still missing and Shadowclan is still rebuilding. Fireheart’s suspicions of Tigerclaw have been temporarily eased by Graystripe and Bluestar’s faith in the Thunderclan deputy.

Spottedleaf has been killed by a warrior and Frostfur’s kits have been taken. There is suspicion of Yellowfang being the perpetrator as she is now missing

After the fight between Thunderclan and Shadowclan I everyone in Thunderclan is working to rebuild the camp. However they question the loyalty of many due to Shadowclan attacking when they were most vulnerable. Tigerclaw is stirring the pot, he is spreading lies that it was Ravenpaw smuggling information to Shadowclan.

Lionheart is dead. After an attack from Shadowclan warriors he was slain in battle. Bluestar has made Tigerclaw deputy and as many celebrate Ravenpaw trembles is fear before letting slip a detail from the battle with Riverclan regarding Tigerclaws involvement with Redtail’s death.

With these new desperate times Bluestar seeks the wisdom of the long dead elders for guidance. After traveling to the moonstone with Tigerclaw, who fled from the moonstone, Firepaw, Graypaw, and Ravenppaw, she saw something so shocking she immediately rushed to return to camp.

Shadowclan has given the truth about Windclan, their leader Brokenstar drove out the clan ferociously and is demanding hunting grounds from other clans with the promise of more violence. Tigerclaw and Ravenpaw’s stories do not align from the beginning battle with Riverclan regarding Retail’s death.

Firepaw, Greypaw, and Ravenpaw make such an amazing trio. Having completed most of their warrior training they have finally been allowed to attend the great gathering between all four clans. However I find it curious that Tigerclaw, in his assessment, sent Firepaw so close to the Twoleg’s place and sent Ravenpaw to a place known for snakes.

2 months of rigorous warrior training for firepaw has passed. On his first solo mission he encountered an angry she-cat by the name of Yellowfang, kicked out of her clan and dying he takes pity on the exiled Shadowclan medicine cat. He has since been presented as Bluestar’s new apprentice in order to speed up the training of all. Shadowclan has driven windclan from their home.

Rusty has now transitioned to Firepaw, his official training begins tomorrow as now he’s acquainted with clan life as well as given a tour by his new friend Greypaw. Only one apprentice seems to be annoyed by him, Sandpaw.

The first death in the series has occurred. Poor Redtail, Bluestar’s deputy was killed.

I’ve forgotten how greatly detailed of a writer Erin hunter is. Truly she knows how to set a scene a build a world. Rusty has only just met Bluestar Lionheart, and Greypaw. Thunderclan is sadly fighting a losing battle of territory against Riverclan.
