la larme à l’oeil un peu

hell yeah, this is good!!!!!

“maybe you’re playing a part on a great stage with only yourself as audience”

“Something breaks when you’re away so long: ties and modes of being and days—the days themselves, they shatter in halves—and so much else I can’t describe. […] So keep your mouth shut because you don’t want to admit how different you have become.”

“But it was not so much what he said about her but how the mention of her name softened his voice”

“I did not have to translate. And violence demands translation. I will never have the words to explain what it is like to be shot, to lose the ability to return home or to give up on everything I expected my life to be”

« I never did know how to be released from it and wanted this writer to do it for me. »

it’s so good 🙂‍↕️
