My 4th time reading this book? And it’s still fantastic

Super cute. Moving kinda slow though. Although I suppose that is the point. Enemies to friends to lovers. And a sloooowww burn.

Um. This is all over the place. The plot.. I mean don’t get me wrong it could be great. The ideas are there and the characters are still going strong. Unfortunately it had all been put together like a 3 year old would put together a thousand piece puzzle.

Got better for a minute there. Much better. Now it just feels like she ran out of ideas

Hating this. Writing? Not bad. Characters? Making Amazing emotional strides. Lou literally being controlled by Nicholina? Hell. What even is this. There’s no romance for Lou and Reid. Reid is cursing too much. I miss Ansel. And I am not happy with this.

I’m enjoying the connections between Lou in the first book and Reid in this one. The use of the word “it” to describe witches in the first vs. using it to describe the archbishop now that he’s dead. Also small quips that reid says the same as Lou did.

Oh good lord now we’re chasing reid through the woods for some god forsaken reason. And before he leaves for his “certain death” (that actually isn’t certain cuz he’s a main character-though that didn’t stop Veronica Roth) he doesn’t kiss his wife one last time. No. He brushes her arm. Pfft. BS

I’m a romance book person -who’s love language is physical touch- reading about two lovers who are miles apart from each other. There is something wrong with that picture.

I got a bit bored for a minute there but I absolutely loved Reid and Madame Labelle’s conversation about Lou. Can you tell I’m a sucker for romance?

Liking it so far. Definitely not as good as the first book was at this point, but not as bad as everyone is saying it is. I guess that will come later?
