This book’s narrator is pronouncing Rhystan (previous book’s hero and current heroine’s brother) differently than the last book’s.

She also pronounced boatswain like someone who has never heard the word out loud before.

*eye twitch*

Ah, the classic rake-meets-the-heroine-and-now-can’t-get-a-boner-for-anyone-else-and-doesn’t-know-why scenario.

Sigh.

Rereading this before I read the rest of the series.

The first two chapters are one of the best beginnings to a romance I've ever read. So much fun!

Can’t decide if Harry’s aunt is trying to reverse psychology (reverse reverse psychology even?) these two into matrimony or genuinely has no idea where this is going.

Either way is funny.

Ahhh! I just picked this up at the library and I’m so excited to dive in!

Low key worried I’ve set the bar too high because I’ve loved the other books I’ve read by the author, and everything about this one points to it being my jam.

Easily top five most hilarious things a hero has ever done to avoid feeling feelings. 🥶

I keep bouncing between the original and condensed versions and can’t decide which to stick with. 😅

This book is making me angry-sad about how little some things have changed in 150+ years. But I’m learning new things so that’s nice. ☹️

I forgot the hero was a ginger (he popped up briefly in the first or second book iirc) and I’m here for it!
