Still really enjoy this, but unfortunately keep falling asleep when I finally get to it. Really struggling with reading time lately!

Struggling to read this because it's not fun at all, of course.

Rereading in preparation for the upcoming HBO mini series!

Rereading this as I always said I would, but hopefully in time for when they air the HBO mini series! And I hope I have a little more insight after a second read.

Oh my gosh, even skimming the material here, which is something I hate to do, this will take forever to finish. Though I'm really grateful to have such a massive resource (seriously, it gives me stomach pains to read this thing propped up on my belly when I'm lying down!) I wish he'd made a cliff notes version! After graduating college, I have less and less discipline reading nonfiction!

Man. It's been too long since I've read a book that made me feel any measure of excitement. I'm starting to wonder, like a cranky old person, if even standards of literature are slipping. I was so excited to get my hands on this book and I'm so disappointed. It's so scattered, but intent on selling itself. Maybe something inside me is dead, but I just don't care about any of the people in this book.

So far, I'm a bit disappointed after loving Uprooted so much. The writing is somehow clunkier and less (dare I say) magical. It's also less clear. I'll keep going though.

This is seriously taking me forever. It's always interesting, but a very disjointed flow. So...less enjoyable than it could be.

Oh my God. So good. So rich. So dense! Phew!

This is really great and rich and a little meandering, but incredibly dense... Slow reading!

The writing is not half as gripping as in The Lovely Bones. And, to echo what I've seen other reviewers mention, I find myself a little annoyed by her obsession with virginity. I understand this matters to her personally, but it feels like it becomes the crux of her trauma.

This book is killing me with boredom and a sense of pointlessness. Will there be a point eventually? Will it underwhelm me as it has so far? Trying so hard to get something out of the classics...
