what is happening

i love that alina is trying to save the world because genuinely only she can, meanwhile mal is like “she doesn’t give me enough attention and she won’t run away with me and leave the world in ruins. she must not want me. she must not love me.” like dude get a grip. it’s not all about you. there are bigger issues than whether or not alina is going to kiss you

mal actually needs to shut up. he’s literally pouting about something that doesn’t even make sense. you aren’t the victim my dude 😭

this being in first person is giving me whiplash because i feel what alina feels about each character so we go from “the darkling!!! 😍😍” to “the darkling 😠😒” and “mal! 😘” to “mal 😒” to “mal!!! 😍”

the way this book’s chapters and povs are split up is so strange to me. there is no way i’m being forced to read 150+ pages to get another corrick chapter. there’s like 100+ pages of just harristan’s pov. we can’t splash some corrick into there?

i love that annabeth calls percy seaweed brain for the first time and he calls her wise girl back but narrator percy doesn’t say anything about it. it’s just casual and normal, even though they hadn’t ever called each other that before
