Idk why I put off reading this for MONTHS fearing the worst - it’s one of the cutest most heart wrenching stories retelling hades and Persephone.

I’m so confused how the description says one thing but so much of this book has been in the past setting. So the abstract is like, inaccurate and that’s annoying.

I’m trying but this man keeps saying things about her that aren’t even like dark romance level they’re just straight disrespectful and misogynistic

why is the part of a story where they’re finally together just so boring

gosh I’ve never had a fantasy book be so… slow and boring. I’m trying to tough it through because I heard the rest of the series is better… but it’s hard lol. Maas is excessively descriptive I just cant focus on what’s happening when she goes into insane detail on every object ever.

For some reason if i download a sample on my kindle, open it, and look at the book description it automatically updates Goodreads to "Read". I'm getting reaaal annoyed about that.

I love MZ but this one … I’m finding it so hard to get into it 😭 it almost peaked too much at like 60% and now there’s like a whole climax conclusion in the works that is just boring lol

Ugh it’s spicy but I’m so bored I’m definitely not a SW fan tbh. The world building and fantasy elements just seem too much of a stretch and nothing makes sense cohesively.

hmm I like it but the lack of context / info on Gage’s job and life over the past 12 years when she was missing is making it feel superficial / flat.
