I realised I'm less than 50 pages from the end and... it feels like the story has only just begun. The whole book has been a rehashing of the same point and backstory over and over... we know Valancy's family situation, we know she has a heart problem, we know Snaith is disliked, you don't need to tell us a million times in slightly different ways. I've found it truly depressing tbh.

Probs an unpopular opinion but out of all these insufferable characters, Cleo is the worst.

oh i hope this picks up. my expectations for this where waaay up here ^ but i didn't expect my actual reading experience to be so far from it...

so boring. 80 pages in and it's taken me a week. not sure why i can't get into it but very disappointed. will not be continuing.

i started annotating this book and had to stop because i was highlighting every.single.sentence.
Each one is so meticulously crafted and resonates so deeply with me.

I'm literally 30 pages and I have THE biggest ick.
I've already read things I did not sign up for 🥴

I want to highlight every other sentence and read it over and over again, the writing is BEAUTIFUL.

after the mindfuck that was The Housemaid, i need a refresh from my favourite comfort author 🥰

Firstly, what is Colleen's obsession with all these trashy names 🥴
Secondly, I'm feeling very uncomfortable with the fact that this book is trying to get me to side with Kenna... the audacity she has when what she did was unspeakablly cold and, dare i say, evil; I can't see myself rooting for her in this at all.

not a fan of the writing style at all and there is nothing i can't stand more than school boy cults 🫥 also 100 pages in and not a lot has happened, don't even know who's died yet...
i'll stick it out in hope the next two-thirds live up to its reviews.

the first book i've felt that i can listen to music whilst reading! very much a vibe

so far i'm finding the writing very amateur. although, my 14 yo self would have absolutely loved a book/mystery like this so i'm sticking with it, despite cringing a bit. channelling my inner child again 😗✌🏻

So excited to start this, hope it lives up to its hype 🤞🏻

I've never despised a woman as much as Neena. And the disappointment I feel towards William, wow.

Very hard read. Dialect is very distracting. Maybe I'll pick it up again in the future.
