DNF'd at 14%, I found it repetitive and without a strong vision other than hammering climate facts. Not the best non fiction, despite its desperately important topic.

It's been a while since I started a book SO engrossing I couldn't put it down. Unless something outrageous happens, I predict this will be a solid 5 stars.

SO MUCH EXPOSITION. I've had about 2 paragraphs of plot and 12.5 chapters of history of the universe

What a grotesque fever dream of a book.

Cartoonishly evil villains and trite purple prose aren't for me. I'll continue for a bit but I can sense the DNF incoming.

I didn't know much about this before starting, other than "queer post apocalyptic arctic sci fi featuring a lady with an orca and a polar bear" and I think that's probably all you need to know before starting this book. Very atmospheric and raw, slow paced, the city itself is a character in its own right, fascinating world building. I'm really enjoying it so far.

It's just... Unremarkable so far? The plot is pretty classic, the characters common archetypes, the attempts at big reveals foiled by the authors themselves casually dropping a mention of the reveal before the big reveal scene. I'll finish it, but it's a bit of a drag.

Kinda dull so far. "I'm a thief, I'm the BEST thief" is something Rags says basically every page.

Not gonna lie, I thought Shell was a man's name and decided to read this because I thought one of the couples at the retreat was two gay men in a marital crisis. Now that I realized that no, actually, everyone is cis and straight, I'm not sure I care to continue lmao

I've never set bookmarks in audiobooks before... But this has so many amazing nuggets of wisdom I've started bookmarking my favorite parts.

I'm not sure why, but this feels so... Retro futuristic? Like a sci fi mid century modern house, or a walk through Disney's Tomorrowland. I like it.

The text is really hard to read sometimes, and requires my whole attention to parse out the artist's writing, especially when it's like, bright red letters on a cheetah print brown background.

This book made me fall in love with the Himbo x Prickly Smart person trope and I'm not ashamed of it
