Just finished Part 2 Influences. Sam and Sadie just finished the game Ichigo with Marx and Dov as their producers. What I enjoyed about this section was the process of Sadie and Sam creating Ichigo and giving up their school semester to finish the game and learning about how art is never pure but is always borrowed and in reference to something else. However it can still be original because you still made it.

At the part in the story where Sam proposes to Sadie that they create a game together because he wants to continue their friendship together as creatives. Sam is very similar to me where he loves to think about the future in order to cope with the present which still remains a question.

Anne finally finished her last year at Redmond College and all the girls were able to graduate with Honors. Anne in English Priscilla in Classics and Phil in Mathematics. Even though Anne received beautiful Violets from Roy it was Gilbert’s lilies from Avonlea that stirred her heart. But apparently he and Christine are engaged and Anne might be engaged to Roy soon since she met his family. I’m so disheartened

Anne spent her summer teaching at Valley Road and saw another romance occur between two old souls Mr Douglas and Janet Sweet. Mrs Douglas made her son promise not to marry Janet until she died which took longer than anyone expected. They were able to finally wed when Janet turned 40 but Anne found the whole affair cruel. Janet reminded her that the older we get we learn how to forgive.

Diana’s wedding was so beautiful and bittersweet. Like Anne I was sad when Diana Barry would have to move 2 miles away from Green Gables and become Diana Wright. “We are not really parting Anne. I’m not going far away. We’ll love each other just as much as ever. We kept that oath of friendship we swore long ago haven’t we?”

Anne and Gilbert are both in their junior year and have moved on from each other. Anne is seeing a tall dark and handsome Royal Gardner who checks all her boxes in terms of reciting poetry and romance, but yet she has some envy towards Gilbert’s girl Christine Stuart who has all the features Anne wants herself. But Anne is my beauty and belle and could never compare

After Anne and Gilbert’s quarrel Anne is trying to ignore how she feels about his absence this summer. How there is something missing in her life. He hasn’t wrote to her but continues to write to everyone else in Avonlea. She recently discussed Gilbert with Miss Lavender and she said it best when Anne asked why everyone wants them to get married. “Because you were made and meant for each other Anne.”

Gilbert finally tells Anne how he feels about her before he leaves to work at the Daily News for the summer. “You are always discovering goldmines.” Is now something I want someone to say to me. Unfortunately Anne rejected his affection and only wants friendship with Gilbert, which caused him to say goodbye forever! Anne’s world is shattered and she doesn’t know how to rebuild it

A dream turned upside down for Anne. Averil’s Atonement story got sold in the local Avonlea Newspaper for Advertising thanks to Diana. How mortifying for Anne but Gilbert reminds her how the money can be used for school. Anne also is enjoying her Soph year at Patty’s Place and has adopted a stray cat named Rusty who they tried to kill.

A lot changes since Anne returned from her first year at Redmond College. Anne attempted to have her short story published but it was rejected by both the American and Canadian Woman Magazine and she refused to write again. Ruby Gillis is very sick but is unable to accept her fate and wants to share a private moment with her old school chum. Davy and Dora skipped Sunday School and asked God for forgiveness

“Spring themselves are always so new too. No spring is ever just like any other spring. It always has something of its own to be its own peculiar sweetness.” Anne has already finished her first year at Redmond and she has dealt with another proposal from Charlie Sloane which lead to her in tears. But she has been blessed with getting a scholarship and being able to room at Patty’s place with her friends.

Anne just finished her Christmas Break at Green Gables where she visited old friends and came home to love. She received an unexpected marriage proposal from Billy Andrews who asked his sister Jane to ask on his behalf. The very idea! So juvenile and like Anne I would have rejected the proposal because it offered no sentiment or romance.

Anne is starting to have a wonderful social life at Kingsport with her new friend Phillippa and Prissy. Gilbert Blythe is also becoming the most popular boy at Redmond and is now captain of the Freshman Football team. Anne is a little vexed that he wrote letters to Ruby, but they still have wonderful conversations together. “If I’d have my way I’d shut everything out of your life but happiness.”

Anne and Priscilla just finished registering for Redmond College and when they arrive at Old John’s graveyard they come across Phillipa Gordon, who is extravagant , indecisive, and is looking forward to having heaps of beaux’s and fun in college. She has already caught her eye on Gilbert Blythe but I don’t think he’ll be interested

Anne just left to Redmond College and like me is already miserable about leaving Green Gables and the people she came across. Priscilla told her about their boarding house and the twins Hannah and Ada Harvey who are their hosts. I know Anne will find joy in this town and thrive in it

So happy to return to Avonlea and see my Anne about to begin her adventure into Redmond College. Even though the women aren’t keen on Anne pursuing education, Glad Gilbert is supportive of her. And already showing his affection towards Anne by grazing her hand in the moonlight at the Lake of Shining Waters and showing her an Apple Tree in Haunted Wood. I understand that Anne doesn’t want to lose her friendship.

Wow just wow. A lot of twists and turns in the story. Did not expect Smaug to die suddenly by Bard (Descendant of Dale) and then for Gandalf to appear after Bilbo gives Bard and the Elf King the Arkenstone in order to avoid war with Thorin. But just as soon as the Dwarves from the North arrive, the Goblins appear and we have the Battle of Five Armies. By the time the eagles arrives a rock hits Bilbo on the head.

Bilbo and the dwarves were able to escape the lonely mountain while Smaug went to the Lake of Men. Bilbo took the Arkenstone without the dwarves knowledge and they now reside in an old guard post that the dwarves used during their residence at the lonely mountain. But where is Smaug?

Bilbo has finally met and successfully stole a cup from Smaug using his ring. However he was unaware that dragons can still smell the presence of someone. While talking to Smaug Bilbo fears he has told too much with riddles and now Smaug is heading towards the Lake of Men. Smaug also made Bilbo second guess if the dwarves will share their treasure with him.

Bilbo and company just made it into the Lake of Men who embraced them because of the legend how once Thror returns gold will be filled in the town. The Elven King will await them once they return but the company heads to the Lonely Mountain where their spirits are slowly withering. However one evening the moon helps them open the hidden gate (thanks to Bilbo) and they are now inside!

Just finished the chapter about how Bilbo came up with a plan for the dwarves to escape the Wood Elves prison through their barrels they ship to other elves and men outside of the Mirkwood Forrest. It was a very difficult journey but we don’t know yet if the dwarves are alive. However we understand why Gandalf left in order for the dwarves to trust Bilbo and his role of burglar.

Bilbo has proven he is a mighty warrior after saving the dwarves from the spiders and revealing to them the ring after he told them he needed to vanish in order to lure the spiders back. But now Thorin is held captive by the Wood Elves and refuses to tell them anything about their quest for gold since these elves love gold

Finished reading how Bilbo reunites with Gandalf and the dwarfs but doesn’t tell them he has the ring in his possession. They get surrounded by the wolves and the goblins also meet them in the trees but are saved by the Lord of the Eagles. Bilbo still misses his home but he is still committed to this journey

Just finished the chapter where Bilbo meets Gollum and manages to get out with the ring, Gollum’s precious and calls it his birthday present. “Utterly miserable as Gollum sounded, Bilbo could not find much pity in his heart, and he had a feeling that anything Gollum wanted so much could hardly be something good.”

I just finished reading chapter 4 of The Hobbit when everyone is in the cave and the goblins capture Bilbo and the dwarves. Gandalf was able to rescue them but now the goblins had another attack and poor lil Bilbo fell off of Dori’s back!!! AHHHH

So far I’m enjoying the world of the hobbit and excited for Bilbo’s role as the burglar.

This book is so good!

Still can’t believe the author mentioned the play The Brothers Size and how I recently watched that play. It’s amazing how the universe connects all forms of art and storytelling together.

Just started the book and already enjoying the style of writing.

Already I’m rooting for these two artists to be with each other romantically and how the narrator describes this connection.

“But even if this seed grows even if this body lives, breathes, flourishes, there is no guarantee of reciprocation”

I haven’t been updating my progress with this story but I have been enjoying the language of the world and listening to my heart. This book is helping me get closer to my personal legend now that it is realized. But like the boy I need to learn how to not listen to my fears and have courage to become wind.

I’m enjoying this book a lot. It’s giving me answers to questions I have had my whole life about the secret to having a happy life and understanding my purpose in life. Pablo says it best, “when you want something all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.”
