Wow just wow. A lot of twists and turns in the story. Did not expect Smaug to die suddenly by Bard (Descendant of Dale) and then for Gandalf to appear after Bilbo gives Bard and the Elf King the Arkenstone in order to avoid war with Thorin. But just as soon as the Dwarves from the North arrive, the Goblins appear and we have the Battle of Five Armies. By the time the eagles arrives a rock hits Bilbo on the head.

Bilbo and the dwarves were able to escape the lonely mountain while Smaug went to the Lake of Men. Bilbo took the Arkenstone without the dwarves knowledge and they now reside in an old guard post that the dwarves used during their residence at the lonely mountain. But where is Smaug?

Bilbo has finally met and successfully stole a cup from Smaug using his ring. However he was unaware that dragons can still smell the presence of someone. While talking to Smaug Bilbo fears he has told too much with riddles and now Smaug is heading towards the Lake of Men. Smaug also made Bilbo second guess if the dwarves will share their treasure with him.

Bilbo and company just made it into the Lake of Men who embraced them because of the legend how once Thror returns gold will be filled in the town. The Elven King will await them once they return but the company heads to the Lonely Mountain where their spirits are slowly withering. However one evening the moon helps them open the hidden gate (thanks to Bilbo) and they are now inside!

Just finished the chapter about how Bilbo came up with a plan for the dwarves to escape the Wood Elves prison through their barrels they ship to other elves and men outside of the Mirkwood Forrest. It was a very difficult journey but we don’t know yet if the dwarves are alive. However we understand why Gandalf left in order for the dwarves to trust Bilbo and his role of burglar.

Bilbo has proven he is a mighty warrior after saving the dwarves from the spiders and revealing to them the ring after he told them he needed to vanish in order to lure the spiders back. But now Thorin is held captive by the Wood Elves and refuses to tell them anything about their quest for gold since these elves love gold

Finished reading how Bilbo reunites with Gandalf and the dwarfs but doesn’t tell them he has the ring in his possession. They get surrounded by the wolves and the goblins also meet them in the trees but are saved by the Lord of the Eagles. Bilbo still misses his home but he is still committed to this journey

Just finished the chapter where Bilbo meets Gollum and manages to get out with the ring, Gollum’s precious and calls it his birthday present. “Utterly miserable as Gollum sounded, Bilbo could not find much pity in his heart, and he had a feeling that anything Gollum wanted so much could hardly be something good.”

I just finished reading chapter 4 of The Hobbit when everyone is in the cave and the goblins capture Bilbo and the dwarves. Gandalf was able to rescue them but now the goblins had another attack and poor lil Bilbo fell off of Dori’s back!!! AHHHH

So far I’m enjoying the world of the hobbit and excited for Bilbo’s role as the burglar.

This book is so good!

Still can’t believe the author mentioned the play The Brothers Size and how I recently watched that play. It’s amazing how the universe connects all forms of art and storytelling together.

Just started the book and already enjoying the style of writing.

Already I’m rooting for these two artists to be with each other romantically and how the narrator describes this connection.

“But even if this seed grows even if this body lives, breathes, flourishes, there is no guarantee of reciprocation”

I haven’t been updating my progress with this story but I have been enjoying the language of the world and listening to my heart. This book is helping me get closer to my personal legend now that it is realized. But like the boy I need to learn how to not listen to my fears and have courage to become wind.

I’m enjoying this book a lot. It’s giving me answers to questions I have had my whole life about the secret to having a happy life and understanding my purpose in life. Pablo says it best, “when you want something all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.”

Just finished the chapter where Evelyn agrees to do a film with Don Adler. Interesting quote how Evelyn describes how we can truly love someone for their flaws and attributes and even though they have good intentions, their motivations can still be selfish.

“how people can be good and bad all in one, how someone can love you in a way that is beautifully selfless while serving themselves ruthlessly.”

What I learned in this chapter is love cannot exist with abuse and neglect. Parents need to treat children with respect and instill in them a sense of responsibility, respectful boundaries, and affection. If we break the pattern of abuse taught by us as children we can raise more loving adults as parents.

Started over on this book and now I am in a better place with it and ready to learn about love in a new way for spring.

What I love about this chapter is love is supposed to come from a spiritual place that allows us to grow in either or ourselves or directed towards another person.

Finished reading Gullible Mick Riva and this chapter was so sad. Celia’s quote to Evelyn was devastating.

“I thought people were put on this earth to find other people and I was put on here to find you. To find you and to touch your skin and smell your breath and hear all your thoughts l. But I don’t think that’s true anymore.”

Finally meet Celia St James and her relationship with Evelyn is going to be interesting. Both are the antithesis of each other but see how they can learn from each other and help their careers and also their growth as people. Also love how Evelyn got her power back from the media by faking a miscarriage.

Now at the part where Evelyn is now involved with her second husband Don Adler who Evelyn for the first time actually loves and wants to be intimate with.

Also she learns about Harry Cameron sexuality and tells him how he is her best friend. I love how both of them are supportive of each other and how Harry knows how to make Evelyn Hugo an even bigger name for herself. Honestly may have to follow his advice

I forgot how easy and enjoyable it is reading Taylor Jenkins Reid. Already I’m excited what Evelyn is going to reveal to Monique about her life. Interested in how Monique is going to be a journalist in this process when Evelyn says it is her version of the story that is the truth.

So much to take away from these past chapters. Miss Lavender Lewis take on romance in novels versus real life. I agree with her that romance in books are more difficult to cope with than in real life because in real life we have a balance of good and bad. And Rachel Lynne moving in with Marilla when Anne goes to Redmond College! And she only see Gilbert as a friend at this point. An exciting new bend in the road

I love meeting Miss Lavender Lewis and how she is a true kindred spirit to Anne and also how Diana and Anne say they are “living to beautify their name even if it wasn’t beautiful to begin with.”

Really appreciated the chapter with Mrs Allen on friendship. “If we have friends we should look only for the best in them and give them the best that is in us. Then friendship would be the most beautiful thing in the world.” Also just like Anne in a later chapter I also love to put my full heart into something and fly the wings of anticipation.

I’m so glad I read this morning because Anne gives promise to an exciting day. My favorite quote is “it’s so easy to be happy on a day like this.” Anne just had her adopted birthday party and learned the story of Hester Gray who died as a newly wedded bride but was able to live a beautiful life and her memory lives on in the garden where they had their golden picnic

Just finished the chapter about Honesty and the importance of being honest with one another in order to have a deep meaningful relationship. Men tend to lie more not out of malice but the fear of hurting others.

So much has happened in Avonlea. I enjoyed Anne and Gilbert’s conversation about what they want to do with their lives. Gilbert wants to become a doctor and contribute to adding knowledge to the world and Anne wants to add beauty and joy. I love their friendship right now.

Anne has a pretty good first day of school and met a kindred spirit in Paul Irving who gave her flowers. Love the quote “ isn’t it something to start a soul along the path that may end in Shakespeare or Paradise Lost.” But her Avonlea improvement society is having a difficult time educating public sentiment. I hope they can paint the hall

So far I’m enjoying this book a lot for my research. And love the idea of making love into a verb rather than a noun because it give us accountability and responsibility to understand one another.

How much I have missed Anne and she has already found herself in a predicament with Mr Harrison Jersey cow. Never place your word of honor in the fate of a cow.
