It is difficult to give you an update without spoiling the story, but I will try.

Kaladin arc is going up (you’ll get jt when you read)
Shallan’s skill at art and creation has gone up a notch, and we have a whole new reveal about her.
Dalinar’s conversation with his nephew, the King was particularly fun. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it just as much as I did.
Adolin’s prowess with the blade is rather amazing.

Shallan got a major curve up in her arc.

Our assassin in white made a reappearance.

Good plot progression with Kaladin!

Several twists and reveals in progress. This is starting to get rather interesting !!

The letters from Aziz have been more regular now.
And Shams of Tabriz has set out to find Rumi.

There a few other letters within too with profound wisdom in there.

Eager to see where this all leads.

“I want you go back to the Barracks and tell the men to come out after the storm. Tell them to look up at me tied here. Tell them I’ll open my eyes and look back at them, and they’ll know I survived.”

We love Kaladin, end of story.

We’ve been introduced to Dalinar, aka the Black Thorn, brother of the former King and a HighLord of his province. His ongoing arc & war camp give us insights on the current political situation and also the link to the assassination from the prologue.

Also, Kaladin is growing on me. Likely going to end up in my sketchbooks. For future references when I decide to write, ‘Kaladin’s step at the Honour Chasm’

Kaladin’s story has taken quite a few turns already - his story unravelling slowly over the chapters.

We’ve also been introduced Shallan in what is a parallel narrative switching between chapters. Shallan makes ready good sketches and paintings, so we like her - deal?

This book came highly recommended to me, so much so that a friend gifted me a copy of Forty Rules of Love - something she does only to very close friends and absolutely wants them to read it.

As you can see, that in itself has set the bar quite high. Let’s see how my reading fares against such a story !!

We’ve been introduced to Kaladin Stormblessed, a character I have heard so much about from the fans. Loved so dearly that people have named their children after him.

The lad is a 19-20 year old, leading a troop of soldiers. Pretty solid entry.

Stay tuned for more commentary as I go ahead with this behemoth of a novel.

“Szeth-son-son-Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, wore white on the day he was to kill a king.”

Leave it to Brandon to write an opening line like this !!

Super excited to get back to the Cosmere again.

And so, the war of the father becomes that of the son … 🔥

Only a Rider can be the vice commandant of Basgiath.

Without a Dragon, you are no Rider. 🔥

Came across this artist on Instagram and decided to give their book a try :D

Looks like it has very cute illustrations.

Very endearing read so far.
