We love Kaladin, end of story.

We’ve been introduced to Dalinar, aka the Black Thorn, brother of the former King and a HighLord of his province. His ongoing arc & war camp give us insights on the current political situation and also the link to the assassination from the prologue.

Also, Kaladin is growing on me. Likely going to end up in my sketchbooks. For future references when I decide to write, ‘Kaladin’s step at the Honour Chasm’

Kaladin’s story has taken quite a few turns already - his story unravelling slowly over the chapters.

We’ve also been introduced Shallan in what is a parallel narrative switching between chapters. Shallan makes ready good sketches and paintings, so we like her - deal?

This book came highly recommended to me, so much so that a friend gifted me a copy of Forty Rules of Love - something she does only to very close friends and absolutely wants them to read it.

As you can see, that in itself has set the bar quite high. Let’s see how my reading fares against such a story !!

We’ve been introduced to Kaladin Stormblessed, a character I have heard so much about from the fans. Loved so dearly that people have named their children after him.

The lad is a 19-20 year old, leading a troop of soldiers. Pretty solid entry.
