Incredible descriptive writing and a fun style switching between time and place. HOWEVER, the story and particularly the ending left me feeling very hollow. I'm not sure what the take home message was supposed to be but it was all just too horrible to feel anything but depressed and hopeless.

I tried but I didn't lIke this book. It felt forced to me. Like it was trying way too hard to drive it's message home. In the end, it wasn't that original. Did I miss something? What is the big hype? It was lost on me.
