I knew it! I knew it! I just knew that there was a previous marriage. I thought he may have murdered an ex-wife so, I confess myself somewhat relieved that I wasn't wholly right. Although, like Jane, I don't yet know what to make of this kerfuffle.

I'm almost halfway through the book and not feeling entirely convinced that I should keep reading... But I've seen so many people say they preferred this to Uprooted and I want to see for myself! I'm a sucker for punishment. I need a spoiler-free YES or NO! 😅
