Philosophy of Religion frustrates me at times because it always seems to run into problems that theology needs to patch up. Here, the nature of truth claims is the name of the game, but the topic of Biblical inerrancy is simply assumed as one of the author’s biases rather than genuinely explored. Overall, it’s been a solid overview for class discussion so far.

David Dark is my personal hero, I think. Such a fun argument

I've had this as an audiobook and paperback for quite a while. The Sandman is my favorite story out there, but I haven't really explored Neil Gaiman apart from it. This one is a pretty wild ride so far, and Gaiman's singular ability to mythologize the mundane has been showcased throughout.

Should I finish, this will be the longest book I've read since Inkheart in elementary school. I guess that's kinda sad lmao

“The boy didn’t need to hear it. There was already a deep black wordless conviction that the way to avoid Jesus was to avoid sin.”

SO very excited for this one. Flannery is delightful

“She seemed suddenly a daughter of light alone. His entity dropped out of her plane and he longed only to touch her dress with almost the realization that Joseph must have had of Mary’s eternal significance.”

Not letting myself start season 3 of Fargo until I finish this book.

“Being disturbed into action by the apparent absence of Jesus is far better than slipping away into the spiritual malaise of being nothing more than comfortably numb.”

This book is very, very good so far. Color me surprised for wanting to get into Russian literature as a result of it. The way that Zahnd interacts with so many wildly different thinkers is fascinating and inspiring.

Through four chapters, I seriously recommend this book. BZ is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and likely a spiritual guide in this season.

Starting to see some of my friends in Fitzgeralds’ characters. I almost certainly do this to a fault, but it is what it is.
This book really makes me want to appreciate poetry and literature more. I’m catching onto a theme of Chesterton being my favorite authors’ favorite author.

Not a heck of a lot of story yet, but Fitzgerald could describe a sack of potatoes in a way that would make me fall in love with it.
