Oh boy, I'm not comfy with lack of racism and homophobia being a fantasy plot device.

Loving the premise and romance, but it's painfully obvious that the author is trying to represent a marginalized experience that's not her own. MitM really misses the mark with its representation of being in an ethnic minority in a very white community. Social commentary is ample but minimized by the story going out of its way to show the MC that none of her fears are valid bc there is no racism in this town.

Somehow, it's taken me this long to fully realize that I've accidentally picked up an omegaverse book instead of the shifter harem I was expecting.

I keep putting this off but finished a different romance in one night. I think this is a sign to DNF.

The chemistry in Bully pulled me in from the start, but I'm not seeing why Michael and Rika are obsessed with each other. The pacing feels very slow with no building momentum. Might DNF unless someone convinces me otherwise.

Oh boy, I sense a love triangle, and I'm not sure I like either love interest.

This is basically She's the Man with hockey, and I am cackling with delight.

Started off fine, but I'm disappointed to see mental illness used as a plot device, just a source of angst for one of the main characters, whose old love had a family history of bipolar. Authors, please never write a character with a mental illness, especially one who gets blamed for actions she was unable to control, without discussing what it is like for them to live with it in a realistic and empathetic way.

The way mental heath is discussed in this book is problematic, and I really don't like the way "schizo" was just used.

I love that the chemistry here is fueled by art: the written word and photography, which are actually personal favorites of mine.

That last one was adorable! I need a best friend like Julian Schenn in my life. Now, on to a tennis romance. I'm ready for the love puns and the crazy amounts of déjà vu.

Absolutely adorable. I'm a sucker for second-chance romances and unconventional parenthood.

Really wanted to love these next two stories, but I couldn't get past the insta-love. Badass female body guard and her client? Fantastic role reversal. And the college one had the makings of such a cute romance, but it didn't have enough of that slow hookup-to-friends-to-lovers romance.

SUPER CUTE! Hotshot college hockey player becomes sweet, cuddly, and protective with his team captain's good-girl little sister/his softball coach sister's player.

Actually quite annoyed right now. I feel like anthologies should contain short stories that can stand alone, not the first third of an author's full novel accompanied with a note to see how the cliffhanger continues in said novel.

Maybe I'm just exhausted, but the prose is coming across a bit too flowery. It's been difficult getting into the rhythm of it and enjoying the story. Also, little has happened plot-wise.

The female protagonist has shown no agency whatsoever after the exposition, and acts like a lovestruck puppy whenever her love interest does anything. DNF.

The descriptions of the female protagonist as "fattish" and "squishy" don't sound half as complementary as intended in the male protagonist's POV.

I was not expecting such strong religious themes. There's nothing particularly discriminatory, from my perspective as someone who isn't Christian, but I feel like there should be a general disclaimer for those who find religious themes in novels uncomfortable, especially for those who have faced a lot of religious discrimination and do not want to read about a protagonist who openly believes that others need god.

Such a strong start to this story until love interest #2 popped up, a personality-less pretty boy and some insta-love, too. No thanks.

Lots of Beauty and the Beast vibes here. Purposeful allusions, perhaps? A hint of what's to come? 🤔

I want to get sucked into this, but gosh I'm just so oooover love triangles. Well, actually, I have always hated them. Still, I can totally get on Team Blaise. I like 'em tall, dark, and angry.

I'm struggling with this book. The plot seems to be moving slowly, and the narration isn't captivating me.

The amount of toxic masculinity in this novel makes me want to kick some asses for Evie. Such an accurate representation of being a woman, especially one in a corporate job. But tbh, I don't know if I can forgive Carter for being such a moron.

Sooo many things wrong with the relationship between these characters.

I read a few reviews and spoiled the romance. Can't decide if I want to keep reading to find out of Davy's life ends up or DNF because the idea of a late intro love triangle is so intolerable to me.

HOLD UP. I DID NOT ASK FOR A LOVE TRIANGLE.
