Can already tell I am going to absolutely love this book. In my opinion the “Department in Charge of Magical Youth” (DICOMY) is a fun, lighthearted take on the Department of Children and Families (DCF). I’m excited to see where this new case will take the main character, Linus, as it’s an orphanage with “the most problematic children” reminding me of the place I work lol (residential care)

Another odd book picked by yours truly 😵‍💫 No chapters. Driving me crazy. How do I know when to pause!?

I want so badly to enjoy this book and I’m only 34 pages in so fingers crossed. So far it’s more poetically written, fragmented, and slightly difficult to follow. On top of that there is a bunch of Irish slang scattered about and I feel like I’ve spent more time looking up words and phrases than reading. All I can do is hope

I hate how movies can never quite get it right (but I also like it because then there are parts only the book readers will understand). I was hesitant to read this book given I had seen the movie multiple times and wanted to a plot twist instead of a familiar story. However, I am 100 pages in and not disappointed by my choice. If you like the movie read the book, it fills in all the gaps
