Excited to finish my reread of this series

YES!!!! TRANS WOMEN CAN BE DRAGONS TOO!!!!

Bro no way Aunt Marla isn’t a lesbian

Shoutout to my mom for getting this on the Audible account just because I added it to the list

Listening to this and playing Minecraft is so awesome

Rereading this in the form of an audiobook man is this gonna take forever

Very funny to be listening to what is really a winter fairy tale in the summer

Big fan of the uncertainty in Faina’s identity here

This woman quite literally never gets a break

I really really like the way she writes this memoir. She skips over anything she deems unimportant or irrelevant and spends no time trying to garner pity. She just tells it like it was, and does everything in her power to portray her brother as he really was without erasing herself from the picture. Her Audible narration is great as well!

The braces and the chocolate bar always stuck with me

When I listened to this as a kid I never really grasped that Irma assaulted Rex despite how it’s almost explicitly said. Really changes perspectives. Also the rat scene is like the most memorable in this book

I forgot about the cheetah scene man that shit is unbelievable

My mom always talked about how she based a lot of her parenting off of Rex Walls and this book and I see it a lot now that I’m listening to it again

I remember being so fucked up about the way they treated cats in this when I was a kid

Time for an epic reread. Haven’t listened to this since I was like 6!

The typeface in my copy is like minuscule so it’s only 100ish pages so really I’m on 41 but I guess I should double that to match the common edition? Anyway I really like this so far

Main takeaway from this so far has been how scary powerful banks are

Listening to this with my sister she’s very intrigued

We back!

This could do with less podcast transition music

Obsessed with Madeleine Altman

Oh this grabbed me SO FAST I am so intrigued
