Good story, a bit diluted.

Not bad, but there's a narrative problem. A lack of dynamism with one character stuck inside a cult.

Short serial book from a favorite author, in which all the chapters are the names of métro stations in Montréal. I know these places, or used to at least!

A collection of preface. Not sure it holds much, but there's a previously unpublished Reacher story at the end. So, yeah, we'll see.

Bloated as h*ll, but the bloat goes down (mostly) easily. Not sure that make any sense outside my noggin.

Haven't read anything over 600 pages in a long time. So reading a 1000 page one. What an idiot!

Our unnamed spy can be quite funny. See:

This has been lying around for a while. Now's the time to break the seal on the good Scotch.

Wasn't planning on this, but found a first edition for $3 at the library. Besides, I haven't read a Matt Scudder story in too long.

Didn't realize it was written in 1949. It dies explain why shortages and misery are NOT romanticized. Feels like an un-cozy mystery to me!
