Classic fantasy adventure!

Ok, calling it quits. The book sticks VERY closely to the show (or, vice versa) so if you love the show, you will love the book. I really did enjoy what I read, and may pick it back up on a later date, but it's time to move on.

That said, one of the big differences that I enjoyed was Claire's character. She's less . . . grave in the novel and Jenny is less angry.

Definitely different than the movie, for those of you wondering. It’s a gentle slice-of-life meandering through the lives of several Owens women, and the ties that bind them. What’s jumping out is the depth to each character that we don’t get in the movie. Definitely their flaws (especially with Gillian) but also the different, indirect ways love is shown in a (healthy-ish) family setting.
