I read as much as I could before book club which was 70% and that was a chore. Not that the book was bad, I just wanted it to be scary.

This is not a ground breaking literature, but it was an easy fast paced fluffy story that I could stop and start without getting confused. Perfect reading for the season, but not spooky at all.

Unpopular opinion but I did not love this book. Will I read the rest of the series? Yes.

4 1/2 stars. So much in this book to love. This is me running to read everything this author has written.

Interesting look at Italy in the 1500’s. And the ending was the best. I did get confused with the jumping around in time.

I was supposed to be a beta reader for this book and even started, but then my dad got sick and life spun out of control and I wasn’t able to continue. I then bought it right after it was published, but still life. I finally started it after I bought the second book and I’m kicking myself I took me two years to read. I’m might be bias as I’m friends with the author but I loved this book and the message.

Quick and easy listen. Put off reading thinking I wasn’t going to enjoy it but I did. Reminded me a little of Daisy Jones which I LOVED. Usually after I read a book I love the following books by the author disappoints but not this one.
