once again a female main character from this author that I absolutely cannot stand, why is she so awful and unreasonable, he deserves better

I’m listening to an audiobook so idk at what page I am rn, but the casual hooking up talk is once again quite shocking to my ears. Ali loves to write a 'badasss’ character that’s more like a dude-no romantic feelings/emotional side and use sex just as an activity. but it’s described in such an off putting way, I can’t help but cringe. I’m not a grandma, but promoting random hook ups at 18 feels wrong idk

lol nothing makes sense, but it’s got the charm of a book that I would read when I was a teenager and it’s making it a fun experience

idk, I don’t buy it somehow and I don’t get their characters, they don’t make sense to me, I hope some things will get cleared up, bc as of right now they’re making her out to be some aggressor with control issues. if it was a male figure we would all see bad temper that screams red flag, but here it’s supposed to be something that makes her herself and the reason why George should be the one?? &no banter

wtf is wrong with america and driving after drinking at parties, why is she acting like he did something there?? when the annoying girl (chloe? her voice in the audiobook is the worst thing I’d ever heard) wanted to drive and he was sooo nice and sunshine like(? like wtf r u saying) to her, insisting that he drives since he didn’t drink, This book is pmo fr now

I put it down after the infuriating airport and airplane scene, but I played the audiobook again today and it’s just too childish. They’re such kids and it’s written for kids, a disappointment since I’ve read books by Lynn that were good and well written. I wanted something light, but not this dumb.

Is there no good romance books left or am I just over them? It’s so bland and unfunny. There’s no tension, insta love is definitely not for me. Samantha is annoying af, but I sadly see the pattern with Abby’s main characters, they always think that they’ll be hard to be with and the sad part is, I agree with them. Okay I’m too harsh now, but it irked me real bad and I don’t know if I’ll finish it.

I’ve started 2 already and I liked Mariana in the past, so I’m still hopeful with this one. Really good! finally coming back to books that aren’t just stupid and hot.

I’ve finally started it like a week or two ago and I’m struggling sm:(( the humour is not hitting and I don’t like the changed word/ plot at all, I absolutely loved the original fanfiction and I hoped that this hook would be just as lighthearted and laugh inducing, but it’s just not giving I fear. I’ll try to finish it, it deserves an honest review, maybe it’s just hard with all the over the top language
