3.5 ⭐️ I loved learning more about the history of Argentina and its relations with soccer. I think the story battles tough topics and i’m not sure each were handled in the way that I wanted/expected. the ending was a little frustrating but ultimately left the reader to determine how the story proceeds. Good story. Important story. Few flaws that didn’t work for me.

5 ⭐️ first one the the year starting off with bang. MAN what a rough life these kids lead. I am in awe of how the friendship lasted the years but also got them through some of the worst of the worst things you could possibly go through in life. i love how fredrik backman writes flawed characters. this is just another testament to how great of an author he is.

2 ⭐️ this was disappointing but that’s unfair cause of the reviews. i feel like we read the same page over and over and over that’s how repetitive it was. we don’t spend enough time in the different lives and honestly the plot was mediocre in the current life. i wish there was tension and yearning but it was just insta love

3⭐️ ugh idk i thought i was going to love this but it was all super surface level and written like a ya. i just don’t know how to feel about

4 ⭐️ wow this series is honestly one of the best if not the best sports romance series i have ever read. this one was such a good way to end the story but also introduce her new stories! i am excited to see this universe grow within the different series. it was knocked because i go the ick a few times

4 ⭐️all i have to say is ali just gets it. this series isn’t for everyone but im so glad it’s for me

3 ⭐️ cool concept but this guy is weird asf

4.25 ⭐️ i love this series holy moly. it’s so fun to see the main characters story but also how the side characters intertwine. i love the slow burn of the romance as well as the ease (but intrigue) of the fantastical elements. such a fun ride I can’t wait for the next book!

3.5 ⭐️ I have a really weird relationship with this author some books i loved and some books i think were completely unnecessary. i think this had great points but also really slow points. the “trials” seemed like it took a lot of build up then the actual trial was like a page. i LOVED the beginning of the poor woman with powers she didn’t know she had so idk feeling mixed on this one

4 ⭐️ such a sweet story! i definitely can tell it’s his first book especially since he said he came up with this concept at 10. I love the whimsy and fun :)

4 ⭐️ that was so fun and so reminiscent of stories we read as kids. it had Fae in it which honestly goes right over my head and a little over used but it was easy to maneuver through. the ending didn’t feel like it needed a sequel but I am excited to see how the next book plays out!

3.5 ⭐️ I think that this series has stunning writing and an interesting plot but towards the end i started feeling detached from the story. i love the world and the intricacies of the plot it’s just not my absolute favorite series

3 ⭐️ least fav in the series because Cam is like emotionally not ready for a relationship

4 ⭐️ this series is the perfect road trip listen. i think that the characters are enjoyable the plot is there for a typical rom com with substance. such a fun series and this one was no different!

no rating - i loved hearing his perspective and his truth. i think he shows the parts of himself that he strives for and the parts that need improvement but how he’s frowned to understand both. i think life in the spotlight is scary and this book shows that even being born into it has its struggles

3.5 ⭐️ I definitely love this world and I have so much fun with these characters. I originally went in thinking we were getting different stories for each book but when the plot continued from the first book and added a second story in took me for a little loop. Nothing crazy but a fun world that is easy to get sucked in to

2.5 ⭐️ this was a debut and i think a very good starting place for this author. it was a good story but the structure and the style of the work was the problem. It was choppy and unorganized. the idea and concept was there but it needed some more structure.

3.25 ⭐️ i don’t do quarter stars often but this felt right. the beginning have was super eerie and creepy and then the ending just got shoved with a bunch of thriller plots that felt overdone. this is probably why i dont read this genre very often and when i do i find it mediocre.

5 ⭐️ the turmoil in this book was crazy. the mental trials and tribulations were crazy. R.F Kuang is a genius for making it all click and then umyour sitting there staring blankly at a wall confused but so deeply hurt. I appreciate the confusion in her work because it really does take time for her to get to the meat of the story. It was all interesting by the last 100 pages of the books make it all worth while.

4 ⭐️ WHAT KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT. also like best retelling of romeo and juliet so far. I enjoyed the political intrigue of Shanghai and the discussions around what was/is expected of women vs men. I think that a lot of discourse mentions that the fmc was annoying but i really loved Juliette. She was strong, independent, and spicy when needed. I am super pumped to read the next books.

3.5 ⭐️ i enjoyed this more than probably most people but in comparison to what I know abby can do this one just fell flat. I think the relationship was surface level because it felt like hearing about a friends relationship from the outskirts rather than actually being in their relationship. I LOVED the Dementia rep (maybe because my masters is in Gerontology). I just wish the romance was stronger :)

3 ⭐️ i don’t read a lot of graphic novels novels so rating is kind of off but i felt decent about the story but it was quite choppy. it’s hard to follow but i understood it. the illustrations were great and a good depiction of emotion I just felt like the story was hard to follow and read a long with. Also a lot of words for a graphic novel.

4 ⭐️ this wedding was a damn mess. They delivered again on a wonderful atmospheric summer rom com. I have been wanting to read this for so long and it did not disappoint. I love rich people doing dumb shi… It’s just so fun.

4 ⭐️ it’s been a long time since i have binged a series like this. such a good ending to the series. the sentimental moments throughout were a little repetitive but that’s just whatever ya know. i am excited to read what else this author has!

5 ⭐️ what a life these characters led. this is gut wrenching this is pain and this is wholesome in so many ways. I think the strength of a nurse in the 40s teaches us a lot. The family love in this book even though is was very trying for Kate was powerful. I hope everyone gets a chance to read this and learn from it

3.5 ⭐️ fun fantasy world with a good found family trope that i hope gets stronger in the next book. I enjoyed the water setting and the main character but i didn’t buy into the relationship that was forming as it just seemed mighty forced. I did like the friendship formed with her and Willa the other girl on the ship. I am happy this is a duology and i’m interested enough to continue it!

4.5 ⭐️ what a fun read? like i caught myself so many times being like “this is so fun!”. the concept was amazing the plot was never ever slow. I am excited for the build up of this series and who else we meet along the way. for some reason the queen for that other planet lady reminded me of the white witch from Narnia. in case that tickled ur fancy. just so fun

4 ⭐️ the ratings on this book concerns me. i love a retelling. this is a retelling in a sense but so much more. the STUNNING mix of character study to plot was great. I will say that the middle to last third were a little slow but i think that builds to the plot so it wasn’t crazy. I am so excited to keep learning about this world and the dangers that our character are going to face.

4.5 ⭐️ wow stunning. i love the writing and the emotions of it all when it wrapped up. I think that this level of storytelling is best for those who get bored of something rather quick. the story felt like a comedy drama and emotional story all in one and it takes a talented person to do it so well. the half star was because i’m not a big fan of detective work in a crime setting.

4.25 ⭐️ I loved this. I think the cringe level dropped it from the .5 to the .25 but honestly not many complaints. I love how they grew as characters from the beginning to the end. I loved the theater kids and the gamer kids. I learned WAY more about D&D then what I knew before so I feel changed!
