Just like the last book I finished (Mate by Ali Hazelwood) this book tries too hard to be funny so there's a lot of booty and butt jokes. The latter book has some fat phobic jokes as well. I dont find it funny and everytime the MC mentioned her date's "booty juice" I want to DNF. I never DNF so Im sad about hating this book 🫩

Even with the surprise drama at the end that was just explained, I dont care. I dont care about these characters 🙂😭

Its a very slow burn & I hate it. I still dont find these jokes funny. Im going to have to finish a werewolf book from the 90s-2000s because I know I'd like that a lot more than this

This is honestly written like a contemporary romance and it doesn't feel very "paranormal romance-y".

Such a disappointment since I liked something about Bride even tho it was ALSO much more contemporary than paranormal/urban fantasy

An hour in and there's been 1 ongoing fatphobic joke involving an overweight man and his "booty juice" and there's been 1 joke about date rape drugs?!

I've tried to start this about 3 times already

I don't know what it is this time around but the writing feels like the author is trying too hard to be funny. I haven't found it to be humorous yet, unfortunately

TW - Racism

That's TWO times this white author has had a white character refer to a non-specific Asain woman as "Dragon Lady". Now, wtf would anyone approve that?

Having the main character wanting to be a good person and be on the good guy's side, but everyone keeps calling a woman a racist name and the MC says nothing, ever? Girl, bye.

Im a bit surprised that Im THIS into a sort of contemporary romance, but I had a feeling about this series when I first discovered it.

The spicy scenes in this were sort of ruined by the narrator trying to do the MMC's voice in a tone that sounds silly when she uses it. It was tough to get through and it took me over a month to finish this book.

Im only 38% through, and I love Buddy Lee and Ike 😭😭 they have some learning to do, but they're getting there. S. A. Cosby is an amazing writer, damn
