Enjoying the build up of drama.

I'm enjoying the character set up, the setting and mystery.
Unfortunately, there was a fault in the copy sent me, and I have to turn pages back instead of forward. I have alerted the author, and she is trying to fix it up.

Typically Rachel Hauke. Great character development and character engagement.

Good strong writing, and excellent character development so far

I’m not sure about this one. The lurking menace is disturbing, and the main character working outside the law is troubling also. Let’s see how it resolves.

I'm reading this with a year 9 English class. There are some interesting thoughts to discuss in terms of the perfect world, highly controlled so no one suffers pain or inconvenience, but as we are nearing the end, this false state of Utopia reveals that there is a terrible price to be paid for perceived perfection.

Just started out, up to the fourth chapter. It is a solid foundation-laying guide to how to properly handle the Bible. I like what I'm reading so far.

I have found this testimony fascinating. I had expected - due I suppose to our societies preconceived ideas - that this would be a story of conversion from a violent extremist background to Christ. I was wrong. Nabeel Qureshi tells a story of family, community and childhood with fondness. His family being devout Muslims, but part of the majority of Muslims who believe Islam is a peaceful religion. yet to finish.

I nearly didn't press forward as Chapter one didn't grab me, but I decided to go on and give the book a chance. Chapter two increased the engagement factor significantly.

Engaging - different to other time slip situations

Jenny Glazebrook has a keen understanding of human nature, country life and is an engaging storyteller.

I have not read this author before, and bought the book because the cover caught my eye on a feed somewhere. The power of a good cover.
It's going OK. The characters are perhaps a little shallow, though the subject matter is serious. I'll see how I feel when I've finished.

The more I read, the more I'm inspired to go back and read the New Testament. Tessa makes the world of the first century church come alive.

Tessa Afshar is one of the best Biblical fiction writers I've read. I'm really enjoying the setting of Rome in the 1st Century.

About two thirds of the way through, and I like Susan May Warren's stories, but I have to ask, why on earth would anyone attempt to climb these sorts of mountains, where people die regularly. Crazy!!

It's slow going, but I'm taking my time. Timothy Keller cannot be speed read. There's too much there to process.

Timothy Keller is a thorough researcher and when he decides to investigate a topic, he leaves no stone unturned. His presentation is indepth and detailed, and as a consequence it is slow reading - if I want to process what he has written. So far, I'm only reading short portions at a time, because large slabs, I would not be able to retain all that has been presented. I cannot read without my highlighter pen in hand.

Intense and deep look at faith and healing. Gripping.

Lots of leads that will probably eventually link into the main plot.
