So the first wife isn’t legitimate because it was “just a handfasting” and then gets demoted to *concubine* by the writer only for him to then acknowledge the second wife as a second wife.
Can someone explain this logic beyond “all Viking things are bad and only our glorious Anglo-Sacon forefathers are right”?
