I’m very sad for what I’m about to read rn.

The games just began.

Finally picking this back up after 2 months.

I’ve never read a book with this type of writing or narration before. Since the girl is being interrogated, it switches between the interrogation and the past event in correlation to the question that’s being asked. I actually kinda really like it because it keeps the story moving and engaging.

3⭐️ for thinking I was going to hate it, it was good. The conflict was a little stupid and avoidable.

Had this book on my shelf since January 2025. Don’t know I haven’t picked it up for some reason. I thought I would hate it, but I’m actually enjoying it. Don’t think it’s gonna be a five star think about it all the time, but it isn’t bad.

Some of the vocabulary is pissing me off. And it also feels like it is moving pretty fast and the timeline isn’t very established.

I’m the slightest bit confused about the timeline and how it slots into the first book. If I’m reading the correct scene, it feels very soon and too quick for it to be happening since it’s at the end of the first book. But we’ll see…

4.5⭐️. Took me so long to get into but so happy I finally persevered and read it. Towards the end I was wanting to cover my eyes like you do during a scary part in a movie. I was stressing. At first I didn’t really enjoy the different povs. That changed as more suspenseful things started happening and more action. Literally wanted to reach in th book and tell them what was going on with eachother!

It only took getting halfway through and my third try to actually get into the book. Spoiler warning: I think now that Elspeth is actually like conscious and seeing everything it’s more interesting. I also am happy about her and ravyn at least knowing they are there.

4.5⭐️ .5 point deduction because it made me sad😐. I wish it told more of Shane’s point of view through everything but I understand having to show ilyas depression. I’m so ready to read about them kicking Montreal’s ass and getting their lick back. Also watching this season is going to hurt so bad.

Shane would so be a Pilates princess.

5⭐️ I am absolutely in love with this book. I watched the show first and wanted to read the books. This was my first mlm read and I will be reading more. Loved how they adapted the book. Being able to know their inner thoughts and how they processed their relationship was so heart warming and sad at the same time. They just want to be together😩

Love seeing the difference of the show vs the books and how they kept it pretty close unlike other adaptations. I’m also reading of Ilyas dialogue in a Russian accent

Been wanting to read with book, but struggling to get interested in it. Hopefully it picks up soon

They are fucking psychotic. Holy fuck. This movie is not going to get the vibe right.

2.75⭐️. The ending was the best part. I feel like the last few chapters I could actually see potential in them being together and liking each other. I was suffering through this book, but the audio saved me. The relationship was just so hot and cold.

I switched to listening because physically reading this book was dragging so hard. My theory was correct about the noises at night. And I did only continue to read this book to see how the thriller aspect of it ends, not for the romance part.

If I don’t end up DNFing I’m going to try to finish it just find out about Sylvester more.
