Didn’t expect to be crying at 7 am. One story already uncomfortably close to home.

Guys idk if I’m going to make it. It’s hilarious, I almost lost it in the middle of silent book club but it is non stop, in a “what if Gilmore girls was about pirates?” kind of way. Like I need a little less witty dialogue and a little more story? Adventure? And apparently there’s a cake contest coming up somehow? Ridiculousness.

This was “available now” on Libby…I skimmed the synopsis and went “ok, sure”…this book is crazy - really different, a little gory, and seems like it’s going to be quite spicy. So, I’m loving it. 😆

Unexpectedly beautiful…I love the novel within the novel as much as Zelu’s story.

Ok, I thought the first one was fine…but I read it and as I’m listening to this one, I realize I’m enjoying it way more. The narrator really brings Vera to life!

Heartbreaking and beautiful; I’ve cried a lot.

The threads have been knitting together and it’s making much more sense now…lots of time jumps, lots of characters, but their stories are interwoven in sometimes subtle ways.

This is a re-read…it is still 5*. Highly recommend, don’t be intimidated by the size or unsure because of the ooky spookies and sci-fi elements…this one is well worth the read!
