I just met Justice Kirby from the High Court of Australia, and he said something that put into words my thoughts on this book and standing up against oppression. We can speak out ourselves but when you are the oppressed, the world will hardly listen. He said “sometimes it takes a straight white woman to make a difference” a funny thought but unfortunately true. But even Sciona has reconciled w/ her privilege.
