OH i fear casey missed a trick waiting until we were halfway through the book to give us kit’s pov. i understand Why, for plot, i just think it could’ve gone back and forth throughout and been a lot more effective whilst still maintaining tension. also,, theo’s section now seems kinda insufferable by comparison

lets GO!! finally started this so one of my students would stop trying to spoil me but when I told him I'd started it this morning he immediately spoiled me :)))

when i opened the carnegie shortlist announcement email to see this cover and title for the first time i said "why would they do this to me" out loud. the joy of working with teens

(however i'm pleased report that it is quite good so far)

reading this feels like an out of body experience... is it the summer of 2016 again?? don't know how i feel about the first third being a rehash of plot we already got in book 3, but i'm too excited to be here to care... and now that we've reached New Content... i can feel the the hold this series has over me reattaching its' claws...

this book is currently being review bombed by fans of a tv show of the same name who seem to think it's plagiarised -- I can tell you emphatically, with authority, that it is not!
if you were planning to read it: don't be swayed by bad faith ratings and reviews from people who have Not read it, and if you weren't: you should!
support it on release!!
