It seems like this book touches on some of the history of and topics about Appalachia that Demon Copperhead really gets into. It’s far less dark though, and focuses more on the characters and the natural world.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book until I finished it., but I ended up really liking it! Things slowed down too much in the middle, but overall I was really interested in the story, and the narration and writing was really good
