I've been muddling along on this one. Not sure if I'll keep up with the series tbh.

Westerns have never been my go-to so I wasn't too sure whether I'd end up getting hooked on The Dresden Files seeing that the first prequel of the series, A Fistful of Warlocks, was in a westernesque compilation book. Actually have really enjoyed it. Read A Fistful of Warlocks & now I'm going back through to read the rest.

Picked this up in order to kick off my reading of the Dresden File series by Jim Butcher.

Have to admit, I saw that this was written by Carriger and jumped at the chance of a buddy read for the series. Didn't realize it was YA until I found it at the bookstore. It'll be interesting to see how Carriger tailors this to a younger audience.

I've really enjoyed this read so far. First time reading Bardugo but can't wait to read the next book.

I've always been told that my dad found my name in "one of his sci-fi books" &, finding out that it meant "lioness of god" in Hebrew, insisted that Ariel had to be my first name. So, I'm always on the hunt for books that might have been the elusive spark of inspiration. Apparently, in this book, I'm a swift and powerful warship lol. Funnily, I think my dad would've really enjoyed this series.

I'm just starting on the Miles Vorkosigan part of the series but it's remarkable how each book I've read has a different feel to it yet you can tell they're related as a cohesive whole.

"How much older can you be at your age? A half minute before that you were stepping into high school, and an unhooked brassiere was as close as you ever hoped to get to Paradise. Only a fifth of a second before that you were a small kid with a ten-week summer vacation that lasted a hundred thousand years and still ended too soon. Zip! They go rocketing by so fast."

Somewhere in the last 100 pages, I officially became hooked on this series.

I haven't been on GR much lately & have just updated my reading goal drastically. It's been a rough year tbh, thank Thoth for comfort rereads, right?! I'm thinking the rest of my year is going to be jam-packed with Discworld books with an eye towards getting through the holidays. Death by a TBR Mountain avalanche - Happy October, GR!

Had to beat feet it to B&N for the next two books yesterday.

This past week was migraine-crazy so I had to read this in brief patches but it was easy to fall in love with all the same. So many good quotes, too! This is def going on my 'will read to my kids' shelf.

Has anyone else's 2018 books disappeared from their challenge?

Bc of how this jumps about, I think I'd prefer to read it in physical form but I'm still fairly engrossed in it. Might need to look up some books on Artemis before going into the second book.

I feel like I need Sarah Millican's How to be Champion in my life asap... April 17th can't come quick enough!

Think I might be falling hard for Otsuka's style.

Tha actions of March in this book are the equivalent of the first person to recommend splitting up or going to check out the basement in a horror movie.

*Book Nerd Dancing* I'm so excited– I finally got the first issue of Spectacle in the mail. I've just flipped through it briefly but it looks amazing, can't wait to start on the short stories.

I told my friend that I've found dating sites to be a great place to find people to start book clubs with. She said I was doing it wrong. I disagree.

The Mangle Street Murders felt like a slightly less winsome, Sherlockian mystery. I'm laid up & on a Victorian kick, however, so I'm crossing my fingers that the character chemistry picks up a bit with the second book.
