I'm embarrassed to admit it took me this long to figure out what's going on.

Holy cow, this story went from fascinating to total suckage in less than a chapter.

"And the IT worker has to know in their bones that if they make a mistake, things can go horribly wrong. Tension and cynicism are constant companions, along with camaraderie and competitiveness. It's a lot like being a spy, or necromancer. You don't get out much, and when you do it's usually at night." you know a book's going to be good when it starts like this.

Usually I finish whatever chapter I'm reading before bed. Last night I finished the chapter. Tonight? I read the news.

I'm having a hard time with the audits I author's writing style. Lot of long explanations. He should show, not tell. Instead we get endless lectures. Also I find his belief that so much will go won't so quickly to be unlikely.

Never doubt the ability of humans to react like power hungry jerks when scared.

The horrors of this war is enough to make me sick. Excellent depiction, horrible consequences. I used to hope they could somehow work things it with the Lankies. Now I just want them all to die.

So far out seems like The Last Starfighter meets Harry Potter.

If you can get past the first part of the book, where the characters are unlikable, this turns good. As the characters open up you find much to like about them, and hope for their happiness.

Jo Beverly does a fabulous job of creating lovable, but emotionally wounded, characters.

It's interesting how some books vary a political vibe to them. My last book, We Might Be Villains, had a libertarian feel to it. This one is jumping up and down screaming "Occupy Wallstreet!"

The most unreliable part of this book? That the UN could ever wield as much power and influence as it does in the book.

I was pretty sure who the mole was before now, but I no longer have any doubts.

I am having no luck. This book is another men.

I'm going to say something I've only ever said once before. This book is too long. And the secondary romance is creepy.

It is exceedingly hard to balance good sci fi with deeper emotions. Ms. Bach has succeeded where so many fail. I've got all the feels!

Got so involved in the action that I almost missed my metro stop!

I always forget how much I love space opera until I'm reading it again. And then I wonder why I read anything else.

When is the last time magic really felt magical to you? If you read enough fantasy magic becomes rather mundane. Where's the sense of wonder? Of amazement? I have regained that sense of magic while reading this book. Truly magic to elicit a sense of wonder.

Every time I begin to detect a plot we move onto a new, random scene. All fairly entertaining, but coherent?

So far no discernable plot. Just a bunch on vignettes.

WHY do so many people equate science fiction with horror? Do they think exploration and first contact isn't enough to sustain the story? stop already.

It's a fascinating world that I'd like to read more about. But I don't like any of the characters. Nonetheless, if another book about this world comes out with different characters I'll get it.

I can't stop sniffling. I love it.

My heart is breaking... I can't wait until reconciliation.

Wow. Has no one ever heard of police brutality? How about civil lawsuits? There's on hell of a tort here!
