exams logic is that i can't read novels because they can distract me but fanfics are pardonable, hence i should indulge in it for ten hours and it doesn't count

my favourite thing about reading this rn is doodling everything that was erased from the island and making a separate tab of them

i have my mid-sem exams in 3 days and i have unfortunately ordered a bunch of books for which my temptation is equivalent to seeing a lady's ankle in the victorian era

i sense heavy symbolism of something here but it seems like i have forgotten what

if someone who defined you dies tomorrow, will you be able to find pieces of them in every book on their shelf, even the most unhinged ones? and what would you do if one day you look for the next recommendation only to find yourself at the end of your chats, with nothing but the abyss staring at you? how will you live then?

i haven't read classics in ages and since recruitment season starts next month, it's quite proper of me to pick up a deeply consuming novel that will promise to distract me entirely from the prospects of employment YAY!

my circe reading journey was worse than odysseus's homecoming because why did goodreads presume that i 'completed' the book and simultaneously continued reading for, only to 'started reading' again all within 4 days???

one thing i loathe in meatbun's writing is the constant repetition of facts. take for instance:

"He was no match for Mo Xi, who painstakingly maintained himself. These days, Gu Mang-gege could never match his Mo-shidi in a fight"

is this some quirk? is this supposed to reinforce the fact? if so, i'm not sure that it's fulfilling either of these purposes.

i truly don't want to reach this conjecture but i believe that it's circe's eternal loneliness that made her sleep with every man that she met over the course of her lifetime, even her step-son✋🏻😭
