I have been reading as much as I am able for two days, and in the last hour of the series I find myself slowing because I don't want it to end. And then I came to a passage that had immense personal meaning to me. I cried. And smiled. Thank you, EG.

Hahaha. Best laugh out loud moment I have had with a book in ages. Thank goodness no one was around - I wouldn't have wanted to explain why I was laughing.

He expected her tiny fists to pummel him, but her hands remained limp, trapped against his stomach. Her first tremble broke his heart. The next one tethered his soul to her suffering. Her sobs transformed his purpose, restructuring him into her shelter. He'd gladly be her barricade, taking on the battering of the whole universe so that she never felt another blow.

"Anonymity is a dangerous, powerful thing. It can provoke in the most sedate, rational human the urge to behave as inappropriately as one likes, with nary a consequence to one’s actions, believing one to be sheltered from the laws of common propriety. Oh, reader, it is a most perilous illusion."

“Oh, for God’s sake, never become a writer. You just murdered a poor metaphor in the most brutal way.”

“The metaphor had it coming.”

Ancient Sumerian hottie, who is the illegitimate offspring of an archangel, battles demons in Toronto, and comes to magically shackled to a gorgeous human woman who isn't embracing his machismo schtick. Kinda loving it despite how ridiculous this premise sounds. Gory, dramatic, full of personality. Gimme more!

“Don’t give me that look,” she told her son. “I invented that look and until you have children of your own, you’re not authorized to use it.” ----Ain't that right?

"My second-oldest sister is married to a physicist. He speaks math, and we get along just fine.” Maximillian quirked an eyebrow. “You speak math?” “Nope. I speak barbecue. Everyone has something to say about properly grilling a steak.” Mmmm Hmmmm.

This is my first Julie Rowe book. I like the banter between her lead characters.

Mooney has woven the details of that gorgeous cover into the story. So impressed!

"If he thinks I’m going to truss myself like a turkey and let him reenact Fifty Shades of Naïve, he’s got another think coming." I kind of love the way Ash thinks.

Captain Noah and Engineering Chief Camille are whispering a plot in each other's ears and it is so freaking hot the room is about to combust! How does author Nicola Claire do that?!

After reading Nicola Claire's Citizen Saga series, I knew I would like how she handled a space colonization novel with an all-powerful rogue AI with the life experience of a child, but wow, I am REALLY enjoying the action and characters so far.

Emma has just committed the unforgivable - a massive TSTL moment. I am struggling against my instinct to chuck the kindle out the window, which is obviously the same direction in which Emma's good sense disappeared.

"Her fist connected with Lord Anthony's shoulder and the force rolled him from the soles of his feet onto his lordly backside. He landed in an ignominious heap with an expression of stunned amazement on his perfectly hewn features." That-a-girl!

I would love to have something from Craven's perspective, but that would probably ruin the pervading mysteriousness in this Gothic.

This has a very "cowboy in space" feel to it so far.

The insult trading and interplay of the siblings in this book are classic.

“Were you just…” Ghedi glanced from me to the now-empty hall, “…flirting with him?”

“Flirt in front of one of my overprotective brothers?” I had better sense. “Not likely.”

His hands clenched at his sides. “It looked like flirting.”

“It looked like good manners.” I shifted onto my side. “No wonder you were confused.”

Lol. Rukh and Raahosh singing Christmas carols sound like mating walruses.

So it appears a 10 year old from Saudi Arabia was asking me how to obtain an adult romance book that I reviewed. BLOCKED! Has anyone else had something like this happen?
