I can already predict that what ever happens in this book is going to be bad, like, devastatingly bad.

I like the build-up so far.

Although it says 35% I’m pretty sure I’m coming to the end of this book and the rest is just a giant index. This book has been both boring and interesting at the same time (the double edged sword of reading.) I enjoy some of what he says, but a lot of his internal dialogue does not apply to me. After all I’m not a Roman emperor - I do appreciate him as a man though.

This is speaking to me on a deep level

Pretty interesting so far, focused currently more on the geopolitics of the 1400’s and odd tidbits of information from previous centuries, along with showing the powerhouse that the Turks were during this time, an unstoppable force, an immovable path and seemingly an unconquerable Ottoman Empire.
