Ishmael and QueegQueg are a very cute couple and I can’t wait to watch them hunt whales together. Something about 1800s prose is just very pretty. Also this is much easier to follow than I expect it to be

In my quest to read all of the books I own… this one is up. I only have Moby Dick and lonesome dove left. This should be very on theme with all of the seafaring literature I’ve read this year

Silly and fun, if a little confusing. but I think it’ll all fall into place and I love the message thus far

Thank god the indigenous people who showed up on wager island got out. I was v scared for them. Love the whole section he spent describing their culture. Fascinating how they were able to survive and forage in such a seemingly hostile place

Love this shit. The life of people in the 1700s British navy is wild and the amount of detail in this is fascinating. Can’t wait to see how it all goes wrong. I mean 200 have already died of typhus and it’s supposed to get worse

Woudlve never guessed in Book 7 that I would love the shake as much as I do
