Oh my goodness. Reading this in the public library was not the play.. this book is so beautifully deep, but this is going to be hard to finish

I didn't find any similes or metaphors, but I'm starting to really like this book. One of the two people Shy is stranded on the lifeboat with throws himself overboard in the middle of the night. Now it's just Shy and a girl named Addi, and its starting to seem like they might not survive.

The ship is sinking in my book, so Shy is put on a lifeboat. Unfortunately, the storm is so bad that the lifeboat sinks, and Shy has to go through an arduous process to survive.

In my book, a massive tsunami just hit their cruise ship and the ship is sinking.

In my book, shy is told that a man is asking questions about him and the suicide that happened on the last ship. Shy is starting to get nervous because everyone on these ships are very important

I inferred that shy is not the best in school because he says "I wonder what it would be like to live another kind of life. To be on the path to becoming a doctor. To be the one waited on instead of the waiter."

Shy is now working a different cruise, but he is still having nightmares about the man he saw commit suicide on his last cruise.

Im on page 17, I chose to read this book because I like the dystopian genre. I like the book so far

I want to know what Jon did to Julie. I always thought Julies death was an accident but in the new book he keeps talking about how he is always feeling guilty for "what he did to Julie."

Today in my book Alex remembered he had 2 house keys for other apartments in his building (His dad was the owner) so he went to them to make sure no one was home, and took their food. He assumed they were not coming back as things have gotten bad in New York in the book, and he and Julie are running low on food supply.

In my book Alex is sending Bri off to a church/school farm where she will be able to be fed three meals a day. They are sad she has to go but also realize its for the best. Before Bri left she said "You have to promise no matter what you will stay home so I know where you are." I think this is foreshadowing to the fact that Alex and Julie will have to eave their home as things get worse in New York.

Today in my book the main character reserved a ticket on a bus that took him to Yankee stadium where all unidentified body's were held. The main character (Alex) did this because he doesn't know where his mom is ever since the asteroid hit the moon.

Today as I read an asteroid hit the moon and pushed it out of its regular cycle. Due to this there are major floods in New York (Where the main character, Alex, lives.) Right now Alex is very scared because his mom and dad have not returned and he has to each over his little sisters on his own as violence erupts in the streets.

An example of a symbol can be seen on page 199 when it says"On many nights I was convinced I saw a light in the distance." I think "The light" represents hope, and Pis hope someone will rescue him.
