I love the short chapters I’m flying thru it

Got to the end of the Spotify audio file to realise there’s another 2 hours left but it’s only uploaded in Spanish and I don’t like this book, the writing, the character or the plot nearly enough to put even a modicum of effort into sourcing a free English version.

Ugh this is going to be one of those books with an insufferable main character 🫩

There were a few chapters that lulled then I got to the end of book 3… omfg we are so back the pages are flying again

Ran back through duty free for a holiday book before our flight yesterday bc I realised I was the only one without one. My progress will be slow but just know that I am hanging on every word and I’m loving it so far.

Elizabeth is written as overly naive in her interactions w the TV producer and crew and it pisses me off bc it doesn’t make sense for her character at all. To be as progressive and feminist as she was in that era and still get those opportunities she did takes immense courage, grit and the ability to READ THE ROOM. She’s a very bright character so idk why she’s being almost childlike in her ignorance

Listening on audiobook bc my library doesn’t have a physical copy rn and im loving it

This is fun and interesting I like it so far. Calvin pisses me off so much though I wish he would just listen to her wishes on things smh

Charming but soooo character driven and slow and I think I’m more of an interesting plot with good characters kind of reader. I don’t feel an urge to pick it up again after I put it down… so may DNF if my feelings don’t change by page 100 or so
