I just got approved for the ARC, just warning everyone that I am going to be insufferable for the rest of the year, this is all I will be talking about.

The way I hooted and hollered when I saw I got accepted for the ARC on this one!!!!

Right off the bat, this high school has the intense security of an airport, with the only reason being a couple of kids fist-fighting? And then some other kid gets called Barack as an insult- like former president Barack- because he's mixed race. What the hell is this?

Tim Curry narrating with a full cast for the first book was nice. But Tim Curry screaming "NO NO NO!" like a baby might be even more fun.

Rereading the whole series to feel something again. Also the audiobooks for all 13 are narrated by Tim Curry, I couldn't resist. He's perfect for this, and probably would have made a excellent Count Olaf in a live adaptation.

I'm gonna cry. Not because of what's happening rn in the book, it's at a pretty happy moment. But I have about 80 pages left, knowing there's a sequel, and I just know something bad is gonna hit soon, I can feel it in my bones.

Another series that I started over 10 years ago, back in high school. I remember really enjoying the blend of science and magic with this series. And so far, I'm hooked. I'm having trouble remembering little details, and the book doesn't give like a recap when it calls back to those moments. I'll make do though! It's on me for waiting this long to continue.

Idk why, but this is hitting all the right spots for me. Really taking my time reading this because I want to sit within its world for a while.

Why am I more interested in her Sappho dissertation than the disaster hookups?

I received an ARC from a Goodreads giveaway a long while ago, and now I'm finally reading it. Go figure.

It's so good though. Beautifully written, and the rivals to lovers is perfect so far.

So much is happening, to Isla, in her perspective. Too damn much is happening, really. She gets attacked during a ceremony, and before the dust has even settled that same night, she gets kidnapped by a group of rebels. The pacing is so bad, and I'm struggling to find the direction that the plot is heading cause right now, it's feels all over the place.

On the one hand, I am enjoying the narration and humor. On the other, there are many one-liners that sound like they're ripped straight from Twitter.

Gemma is still annoying and selfish, but finally she's starting to see that in her own actions. I am not enjoying the instalove, and the first sex scene we get is super not sexy. And again, when we get to Farrin's performance, it makes me wish I was reading a book from her perspective. On the plus side, I like how Gemma's anxiety and chronic pain are handled.

Why do we have to follow Gemma, she is so annoying, so disrespectful to her sisters when they've done nothing against her. Just meeting both of her sisters, I want to her their perspective instead.
