Masterful use of subtlety. If it wasn't already stated in the blurb that the vampire dude can see through Maya's disguise, this dumbass fake second name would certainly tip him off.

Don't normally do this, but I get the sense this book is going to have some elements that bear noting. First impression? The world feels barely developed, the exposition is both heavy-handed and ineffective, and the characters are so shallow and ridiculous they might as well be cartoons. Example, the stepmother is evil and killed the king but no one does anything because reasons. MC said so, thus it must be true.

Y'know something? I think I really like Sandor Clegane. He's brash and rude, and yeah, maybe a bit cruel, but you know what? He's really the only character who says it like it is; the only one who understands that money and ambition trump honour and justice every time. He has a certain hard wisdom about him and I have to admit I like it.

All the good guys are dying off! WHY?! *sigh* At least my favourites are still alive (for now!).

One chapter in... Looking good so far. It's good to be back in the Game of Thrones universe!

Not bad so far. There's been a few instances of information overload, and some concepts have been difficult to wrap my head around (day-month? wtf?), but overall I'm enjoying it.
