So far this has been extremely underwhelming. They do a lot of walking and some talking ig. The magic system is a bit underdeveloped. The “slow burn” & “yearning” is just lack of communication and then completely falls flat. As of now there hasn’t been any major plot developments and I’m over halfway done

Their entire kingdom is about to be burned to the ground and they’re too busy throwing “husband” and “wife” at each other in an argument like shut up plz omg

To each their own but 3 right off the bat seems excessive

Like all of this is just sex scenes, nooooothing else has happened AT. ALL. I thought there was a war. An assassination attempt. A kidnapping. The overall distraction of two kingdoms on the brink of reality. And all they’re doing is hate f*cking 😶

I have yet to feel a single thing towards any of the characters at all. Like I’m kinda bored of everyone idk

It’s taken me so long to get even this far. I had this issue slightly with the first book but so far it’s really present - there’s just soooo much over explaining. I just feel like we can cut out a ton of Meryn’s internal monologue and still get the exact same story, if not an even better one. I’m hoping as the plot takes off it’s not so bothersome to me
